The Snugpak Bunker IX™ WGTE is a four-season three-person dome tent built for expedition, mountaineering, basecamp and military use. A fly-first pitching system with opposing aluminium poles gives quick, stable deployment in adverse conditions, while a 5000mm hydrostatic head flysheet and groundsheet with taped seams provide dependable protection in severe weather. The spacious interior measures 245 x 205cm - enough for three people or two with additional kit.

About This Tent

The Bunker IX™ is one of Snugpak's most established products - a tried and tested expedition dome tent that has been used by mountaineers, climbers and military personnel in demanding environments worldwide. The opposing pole dome structure provides exceptional stability in high winds, and the fly-first pitch means shelter can be established quickly before the inner is attached - a practical advantage in deteriorating weather.

The 5000mm hydrostatic head rating on both the flysheet and groundsheet places it well above the 1500mm threshold generally considered waterproof, giving confidence in sustained heavy rain and snow. The 210T polyester ripstop flysheet and 190T nylon groundsheet are both PU coated with taped seams, closing off the weak points that let moisture in on lesser tents.

The No-See-Um mesh inner at 1600 holes per square inch provides effective insect and bug protection without significantly restricting airflow - relevant for expedition use in both cold mountain environments and warmer climates where insects are a concern. The two offset doors are positioned to reduce wind ingress during entry and exit, a detail that matters on exposed campsites.

At 3.52kg total weight with a trail weight of approximately 2.8kg and a pack size of 45 x 20cm, the Bunker IX™ is compact for a four-season three-person tent.
