Ordering to Northern Ireland? Northern Ireland is part of the UK, so UK delivery prices and free delivery over £50 apply. See our UK Shipping Information page.
Tracked Delivery From the UK to the Republic of Ireland
We ship every order to the Republic of Ireland from our base in the UK. At checkout you can choose between two tracked services:
- Royal Mail International Tracked. Once your parcel arrives in the Republic of Ireland, An Post takes over for the final delivery to your door.
- DPD Classic, a courier service with door-to-door tracking and a one-hour delivery window on the day.
Delivery Costs
Prices are shown in euros. Royal Mail delivery to the Republic of Ireland is priced by the weight of your parcel, and DPD Classic is a single flat rate. The exact cost is shown in your cart and at checkout before you pay.
Free delivery offers on our site apply to UK orders only.
We can send parcels up to 5kg with Royal Mail and up to 30kg with DPD Classic. If your basket is heavier than 30kg, checkout will not show a delivery option, so please email sales@taskoutdoor.co.uk and we will help.
Estimated Delivery Times
- Royal Mail International Tracked = 3 to 4 working days
- DPD Classic = 2 to 3 working days
These are estimates from the carriers and are not guaranteed.
Please allow extra time for remote and rural addresses, during busy periods such as Christmas, and while your parcel clears Irish customs. Delivery times are counted from the point of dispatch, not the time the order is placed.
Same Day Dispatch: Before 2:30pm Monday to Friday, Before 11:30am Saturday
We aim to dispatch all orders the same day they are placed, Monday to Friday for orders placed before 2:30pm, and Saturday for orders placed before 11:30am. The Republic of Ireland and the UK share the same time zone. Orders placed after the cut-off, or on a Sunday, are dispatched on the next working day. No orders are dispatched on UK bank holidays, as there are no postal collections.
Tracking Your Parcel
You will receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order is dispatched. Royal Mail parcels can be followed on the Royal Mail website, and once they have arrived in the Republic of Ireland, on the An Post website too. DPD parcels can be followed on the DPD website from dispatch to delivery, and DPD will text or email you with your one-hour delivery window.
VAT, Duty and Fees Payable on Delivery
Since Brexit, a parcel from Great Britain to the Republic of Ireland is an import from outside the EU, and it has to clear Irish customs.
Our prices and delivery charges do not include Irish VAT or customs charges. We do not collect them at checkout. Instead, they are collected from you by An Post or DPD before your parcel is delivered.
- VAT. Irish VAT is due on goods of any value from outside the EU. Most of our products are charged at the standard rate of 23%, calculated on the value of your goods plus delivery and any duty.
- Customs duty on orders worth €150 or less. Since 1 July 2026, the EU charges a fixed customs duty of €3 per item on low-value parcels. It is charged per type of item, so two identical t-shirts count as one item, but a jacket and a pair of gloves count as two.
- Customs duty on orders worth more than €150. The normal EU duty rate for each item applies, depending on what it is and where it was made. Goods made in the UK can qualify for duty-free entry under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement. Most of the brands we stock are made outside the UK, so standard EU duty rates usually apply to them, and clothing is among the higher-rated goods.
- Carrier fees. An Post and DPD charge their own fee for handling customs on each parcel that has charges to pay. A further EU-wide handling fee on parcels from outside the EU is also expected to be introduced from late 2026.
The exact amounts are set by the Irish Revenue Commissioners and the carrier, not by us, so we cannot tell you in advance precisely what you will pay. You can find out more on the Citizens Information guide to buying online from the UK and the Revenue customs pages.
How to Pay
For Royal Mail parcels, An Post will contact you by text or email with the amount due and a link to pay online. For DPD parcels, DPD Ireland will send you a text and/or email asking for payment. In both cases your parcel is released for delivery once the charges are paid.
Please pay promptly. If the charges are not paid within the carrier's deadline, the parcel is returned to us, and the return journey can take weeks. If you have decided not to go ahead with your order, please email us rather than leaving the charges unpaid, so we can talk you through the options.
Beware of Scam Texts
Fake "customs fee" texts and emails are common. Genuine requests will quote your tracking number and come from An Post or DPD. If in doubt, go to the carrier's website directly rather than following a link, or email us and we will check your tracking for you.
Returns
Our 100-day returns promise applies to orders to the Republic of Ireland, alongside your 14-day right of withdrawal. See our Republic of Ireland returns page for how to send items back and your rights under Irish consumer law.
