Bolle Silex+ BSSI Ballistic Glasses

The Bolle Silex+ BSSI Ballistic Glasses wrap a single panoramic lens right round to the temples, so the protection carries on past the point where a flat lens would stop and the view stays uninterrupted across the whole field. An upper protection frame carries the lens rimless from below, which keeps the weight down to 30g and keeps the bottom of your vision clear.

FLEX 160 bi-material PC/TPR temples flex out to 160 degrees rather than fighting the shape of your head, and a non-slip nose bridge stops the frame creeping when you sweat or move. Both faces of every lens carry Bolle's PLATINUM coating for anti-scratch and anti-fog performance. Ballistic resistance is certified to STANAG 2920, with a measured V50 of 223.2 m/s on the clear lens, 225.5 m/s on the copper and 225.9 m/s on the smoke.

Lens markings decode as follows. The clear lens is marked 2C-1.2 1FT KN, an EN170 UV filter; copper is 5-1.4 1FT KN and smoke 5-3.1 1FT KN, both EN172 sunglare filters. In each case 1 is optical class 1 for permanent wear, F is low energy impact (a 6mm 0.86g ball at 45 m/s) with T for that test at extreme temperatures, and K and N certify the anti-scratch and anti-fog coating. The frame is marked EN166 FT CE UKCA. That F is only the EN low-energy test; the ballistic figures above are measured separately to STANAG 2920.
