Nightfox XB5 850nm Infrared LED Flashlight

The XB5 is the workhorse of the Nightfox torch line: a compact 5W handheld infrared illuminator whose only job is to extend how far your night vision device can see. It emits at 850nm, the higher-output wavelength, which gives you maximum reach at the cost of a faint red glow visible at the emitter. If you need to stay completely unseen, the XB5 940nm trades range for near-invisibility; if you want both wavelengths plus white light in one body, look at the Nightfox Spectrum.

A focusable 38mm aspherical lens goes from wide flood to tight long-throw spot in about three turns, and a stepless dimmer gives continuous brightness control rather than fixed steps. Updated circuitry produces a clean, non-flickering beam. The body is O-ring sealed and splashproof, and at 195g it adds very little to a rifle, scope or binocular setup. Infrared light is invisible to the naked eye, so the XB5 must be used with a night vision device. One 18650 lithium battery is required and is not supplied.
