Pentagon Lycos Combat Trousers

The Pentagon Lycos is a combat trouser designed around a duty belt and a kneeling position. Ten pockets, an elasticated waistband that gives when you crouch, and external kneepad pockets that load from the outside so you can drop a pad in without taking the trousers off. The fabric is a high-density polycotton rip-stop with a water-repellent coating, so a shower runs off rather than soaking in and a snag stops at the next thread.

The pocket layout is the reason to buy it. Two hand pockets, two large front thigh pockets, two extra-large flapped side cargo pockets, two groin utility pockets sized for a magazine, and two rear pockets on hook and loop. Everything closes, and the cargo flaps sit forward on the thigh where you can reach them kneeling rather than out on the side seam.

Underneath, the build is proper combat spec: triple-stitched stress points, reinforced belt loops built for a loaded belt, a high-rise rear and contoured back so the waistband does not gape when you bend, and width-adjustable lower legs that cinch down over a boot. Fastening is a YKK® zip with a PRYM® snap and an internal safety button. Pentagon holds a registered design on the pattern, number 008190813-0002.
