Constructed from 190T polyester with a PU 3000mm waterproof coating and taped seams, it provides dependable weather protection as a vehicle-side awning or side wall extension. It can be used as an overhead canopy for additional outdoor living space beside the van, a side wall for protection from wind and rain, or both simultaneously for maximum shelter coverage. Two poles support the outer edge during overhead use (sold separately), with an optional third central pole available to improve headroom and water runoff in heavy rain.

The DD Campervan Tarp addresses a common gap in the van life setup: a lightweight, packable awning that works in genuine rain and stores inside the vehicle when not in use. The PU 3000mm waterproof rating and taped seams make it functional in wet British conditions rather than fair-weather use only, and the dual beading compatibility - 6mm and 8mm - means it works across a wider range of vehicles than single-spec alternatives. The design has been tested in real touring conditions using the VW California T6.1 as the reference vehicle.

Two poles support the outer edge when the tarp is deployed as an overhead canopy, with pegs and guy lines providing stability in wind. An optional third central pole (sold separately) improves headroom in the centre and assists water runoff during heavy rain. When used as a side wall, the tarp attaches directly to the awning rail system and is secured with integrated buckles and pegs for additional protection from wind and low-angle rain.
