The Bolle Pilot Firefighter Safety Goggles bring the proven Pilot platform to firefighting, with a flexible co-injected sealed frame that guarantees adaptability and unequalled comfort. A copper CSP lens cuts glare while maintaining an excellent field of vision in demanding conditions.

An adjustable flame-retardant strap secures the goggles for firefighting use, the polycarbonate lens carries a PLATINUM anti-scratch and anti-fog coating, and the goggles are ATEX-certified for explosive atmospheres. Certified to EN166 and EN172.

The frame is marked EN166 3 4 5 BT. That means protection against liquid droplets (3), large dust particles (4) and gas and fine dust particles (5), with B medium energy impact resistance to a 6mm 0.86g ball at 120 m/s and T for use at extreme temperatures.

Sealed Firefighter or vented Pilot Neo? The markings tell you which job each is for.

  • This Firefighter version is sealed and marked 3 4 5 BT. The 5 is gas and fine dust protection, which only a sealed frame can offer. It carries the flame-retardant strap and the ATEX certification.
  • The Pilot Neo is vented and marked 3 4 9 BT instead. It swaps the fine dust rating for molten metal and hot solids protection, plus airflow to fight fogging, and uses a chemical-resistant neoprene strap.

Sealed for fine dust, gas and explosive atmospheres. Vented for heat, chemicals and fog control.

Using these for airsoft? The Pilot Firefighter carries the EN166 B impact rating, the 120 m/s level most UK airsoft sites ask for, and the sealed frame blocks BB fragments completely. Note the copper tinted lens makes it an outdoor daylight choice, and being sealed it will fog sooner than a vented goggle when you are working hard. For indoor CQB the vented Pilot Neo with a clear lens is the better pick. Site rules vary, so check with yours, and read our guide on the eye protection you need for airsoft.
