Bolle Swift OTG Safety Glasses

The Bolle Swift OTG solves a specific problem: you already wear glasses, and the site rules say you need eye protection. Rather than asking you to choose between seeing and being protected, the Swift is built wide and deep enough to go straight over your own frames, with a slightly curved base 4 lens instead of the tight wrap used on ordinary safety glasses, because a deep wrap would foul the frames underneath.

The frame is a petrol blue recycled polycarbonate with clear side shields moulded into the lens, so you get upper, lower and lateral cover without a separate shield clipped on. Thin, contoured temples keep it usable under ear defenders, the clear lens carries Bolle's PLATINUM Lite anti-scratch and anti-fog coating, and the whole thing weighs 39g. It is part of Bolle's Go Green range: 33% recycled polycarbonate by weight, single-material and fully recyclable, with no metal parts anywhere in it.

The lens is marked UL1.2 CT 1 and the frame 16321 UL1.2 CT 1-M. This is the newer EN ISO 16321-1 standard that is replacing EN166, so the letters read differently: C is impact at 45 m/s from a 6mm 0.86g ball, T covers that test at extreme temperatures, 1 is optical class 1 for permanent wear, M is the medium head size, and UL1.2 is the clear UV filter code. Note the marking carries no K or N, so as with the rest of Bolle's PLATINUM Lite range the coating is not separately certified for scratch and fog resistance the way the full PLATINUM models are.
