Task Large Army Firesteel: How to Use Guide
  • Step 1: Gather Combustible Materials - Collect dry leaves, hay, paper, birch bark, and other combustible materials. These will serve as your tinder to catch the sparks and start your fire.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Firesteel - If using the firesteel for the first time, use the scraper to remove the black protective layer on the firesteel rod to expose the shiny metal beneath. This ensures you can produce sparks effectively.
  • Step 3: Position the Firesteel - Place the ferro rod against the tinder at an angle of approximately 45 degrees. Ensure the rod is close enough to the tinder to direct the sparks onto it.
  • Step 4: Create Magnesium Shavings - Use the scraper to scrape off enough magnesium shavings from the rod onto the tinder. The magnesium will ignite easily and help start the fire.
  • Step 5: Ignite the Tinder - Quickly scrape the flint to produce a shower of sparks. Aim the sparks at the magnesium shavings and tinder. Once the sparks hit the magnesium, it should ignite. Blow gently on the tinder to help the fire grow.

By following these steps, you'll be able to effectively use the Task Large Army Firesteel to start a fire in outdoor or survival situations.
