Nightfox Swift Max Night Vision Goggles

The Swift Max is a tactical refinement of the Nightfox Swift rather than a new platform. It keeps the same 1x optics, 640 x 480 sensor and 360g weight, and adds the things that make the Swift genuinely usable in the field: a soft wraparound rubber eyepiece that stops screen glow escaping, a premium head strap, refined firmware with a green filter option, and a G24 dovetail helmet adaptor supplied in the box rather than sold separately.

Range improves modestly to around 80m, and the 40 degree field of view at 1x magnification keeps your sense of distance natural while moving. A 2x digital zoom lets it double as a short-range binocular. Five buttons run the whole interface, so it stays workable with gloves on and in the dark. If you need dual 850nm and 940nm infrared and a 1080p sensor, look at the Swift 2; if you need recording, the Swift 2 Pro.
