Vango Tay 300 Tent

The Vango Tay 300 is a three-person dome tent built for weekend camping, festivals and anyone pitching their first tent. It goes up inner-first in around ten minutes on colour-coded poles, and the Tay 300 pitching instructions (PDF) show you exactly how. It packs down to a bag you can carry one-handed, and puts a sheltered porch in front of the bedroom so boots and packs stay out of the sleeping space.

The flysheet is Protex 70 denier polyester rated to 3000mm hydrostatic head, with every flysheet and groundsheet seam factory taped and a waterproof PE groundsheet underneath. The Gothic Arch pole structure holds the shape steady in wind and sheds water and snow rather than letting it pool. Fully rain tested to EN ISO 5912.

Pitched, it measures 285 x 190 cm with a 130 cm peak, so it is a tent you sit up in rather than stand up in. The bedroom is 210 x 180 cm. That is three standard sleeping mats side by side with nothing spare, or a comfortable two with room for kit between you. The remaining 75 cm of length forms the porch, which is where boots, packs and wet waterproofs are meant to live.
