Campervan & Caravan Awnings - Drive Away, Air & Poled Awnings
An awning is the simplest way to double your living space on a trip. It gives you somewhere dry to sit, eat, kick off muddy boots and keep kit out of the weather, so the van or caravan is left for sleeping. This collection covers drive away awnings and canopies for campervans, and air awnings for caravans.
For campervans, the Vango Cove III is a freestanding poled drive away awning in Low and Mid heights, with a roll-away tunnel so that, with a Drive Away Kit, you can unhook and drive off for the day while it holds your pitch. The Vango Sunlight Air and Vango Sunlight are 2-in-1 canopies for low-height vans: zip the walls on for a sheltered awning or take them off for an open sun canopy, on a single AirBeam or fibreglass poles. For caravans, the Vango Palma Air 330 is a compact inflatable awning with a draught skirt and wheel arch cover in the box.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a drive away awning?
A drive away awning connects to the side of a campervan through a tunnel and stands on its own frame. When you want to use the van, you disconnect the tunnel and drive off, leaving the awning pitched to hold your space on site.
How do I measure my campervan for an awning?
Park on level ground and measure from the ground to the awning rail, gutter or wind-out awning where it will attach. Each awning lists its attachment height range, so choose one your measurement falls inside.
Air awning or poled awning?
Air awnings use inflatable AirBeams, so there are no poles to thread and they are the quickest to pitch. Poled awnings use fibreglass poles and are often lighter, with a smaller pack size.
Will a campervan awning fit my caravan?
Not usually. Caravan awning rails sit higher, typically 235 to 250cm, so caravan awnings like the Palma Air 330 are built to that height. Campervan awnings are made for lower vehicles.
Can I leave an awning up all season?
These are touring awnings, built for holidays and weekends. Long spells in strong sun wear the fabric faster, so take them down between trips rather than leaving them on a seasonal pitch.
