Zero Alpha Designs is a British maker of bespoke ghillie suits, leaf suits and concealment systems, hand-built to order for snipers, stalkers, wildlife watchers and airsoft players. Every piece is made by hand in the United Kingdom rather than pulled off a shelf, and each one is finished to the specification of the person who ordered it.

The ghillie range is built on a Viper base shroud, a mesh backing with rows of elastic loops sewn across it, and garnished with hand-dyed hessian tied in by hand. Because the hessian is dyed in-house rather than bought pre-coloured, the blend of greens, tans and russets can be tuned to the ground you actually work, and no two pieces come out identical. The elastic loops let you push local vegetation into the suit on the day, so the same garment adapts as the seasons turn.

Every garment is weathered and tested before it is dispatched, so it arrives ready to use rather than looking factory-new in the field. The trade-off for that level of handwork is time: Zero Alpha build to order, and their stated lead time is up to 4-5 weeks.

How long does a Zero Alpha Designs order take?

Zero Alpha state a lead time of up to 4-5 weeks. Nothing in this range is a stock item; each piece is hand-built to order once you place it, which is why it takes longer than an off-the-shelf suit. If you need something for a specific date, get in touch before you order and we will check where the queue stands.

Can I ask for particular colours?

Yes. Each order is made to the customer's specification, so colour and style requests can be left in the order notes and Zero Alpha will build to them. The standard choice is between a Summer scheme, which runs lighter and greener, and an Autumn scheme, which runs into deeper browns and russets.

Do ghillie suits hide you from thermal imaging?

No. A ghillie suit is a visual concealment garment. It breaks up your outline and blends you into the background against the naked eye and against optics that work with visible light. Thermal imaging reads emitted heat rather than reflected light, and no garnish layer will conceal a warm body from it. Treat anything you buy here as camouflage, not as protective or signature-defeating equipment.
