Oz OverBoots Standard Oilskin Sox Savers

The Oz OverBoots Standard Oilskin Sox Savers are the wet-weather version of the classic farm sox saver. The skirt is oilskin, Australian-made cotton treated with paraffin and Teflon, in traditional brown, so rain, dew and splashes bead up and run off rather than soaking through. It sits round your ankle on an elasticated top and hangs over your boot top, closing the gap where water, soil, grass seeds and grit get into socks.

Oz OverBoots describe the fabric as water repellent with a superior level of water and soil resistance, and it is the pair they point customers to when the cotton or weatherproof versions are not enough. That makes it the one to wear for wet grass first thing, muddy gateways, washing down and work in the rain. There are no straps or buckles: slip it over your foot before your boot goes on, then let the skirt drop.
