The Wilpena is the angular frame in the Gumbies sunglasses range, named after Wilpena Pound, the vast natural amphitheatre of ridgelines in South Australia's Flinders Ranges. It is the sharper-edged option against the rounded Cradle. What makes the range unusual is the frame material: a wheat-derived bio-plastic rather than conventional petroleum acetate, flecked through with natural fibres so each frame has a slightly different finish. Lenses are polarised with full UV protection, and every pair ships with a hard case made from repurposed plastic plus a branded cloth bag.
