Frequently Asked Questions

What does the hydrostatic head rating mean?

Hydrostatic head measures how waterproof a fabric is, in millimetres. A higher number means greater resistance to water; 1,500mm is generally considered the minimum for a waterproof tent, with many designs rated higher. Check the product description for each tent's rating.

What is a tent footprint and do I need one?

A footprint is a groundsheet that goes under the tent to protect the base from abrasion and damp. It is not essential but extends the life of your tent, especially on rough ground.

What is a bivvi tent?

A bivvi (or bivvy) shelter is a low-profile, one-person shelter that is lighter and more discreet than a standard tent, popular for solo wild camping and field use.

Do the tents come with pegs and poles?

Most tents include their poles and pegs, and we also stock spares and upgrades separately. Check the individual product description to confirm what is included.
