The Daintree is named after the Daintree Rainforest in Far North Queensland, the oldest surviving tropical rainforest on earth, and it rounds out the Gumbies sunglasses range alongside the angular Wilpena and the rounded Cradle. All three share the same thinking: the frame is a wheat-derived bio-plastic rather than conventional petroleum acetate, flecked through with natural fibres so each pair has a slightly different finish. Lenses are polarised with full UV protection, and every pair ships with a hard case made from repurposed plastic plus a branded cloth bag.
