Bolle Raider Kit Ballistic Glasses

The Bolle Raider Kit is a ballistic eyewear system rather than a single pair of glasses. One wraparound frame takes three easy-change mono-lenses, clear, amber and smoke, and it mounts two ways: on conventional temples for everyday wear, or on the supplied elastic head strap when you want it locked to your head under a helmet. The frame also takes a foam insert that closes the gap between the frame and your face.

The lens is a single 2.45mm polycarbonate wrap on a Curve 8 base, so there is no frame rim across the middle of your vision and the coverage carries round to the sides. Both faces of every lens carry Bolle's full PLATINUM anti-scratch and anti-fog coating. The whole thing weighs 50g and comes in a hard zip case with a microfibre pouch, which matters on a three-lens kit because the two lenses you are not wearing need somewhere safe to live.

Clear and amber are both marked 2C-1.2 1 FT KN and smoke is 5-3.1 1 FT KN, with the frame marked EN166 FT CE. So clear and amber are EN170 UV filters passing more than 74% of the light, smoke is an EN172 sunglare filter in the 8 to 18% band, 1 is optical class 1 for permanent wear, F is low energy impact at 45 m/s, T covers that test at extreme temperatures, and K and N certify the coating for scratch and fog resistance. Ballistic performance is measured separately to STANAG 2920, at a V50 of 217.1 m/s on the clear lens, 221.3 m/s on the amber and 218.4 m/s on the smoke.
