Description

The Enertor PX1 Running Insoles are full-length, shock-absorbing insoles built around the way a runner lands. They are made in Britain from Enertor's own PX1 material, which spreads impact sideways through the insole instead of letting it travel straight up the leg. Enertor rate PX1 at up to 89% more shock absorption per millimetre than the leading competitor, in a thinner, lighter insole.

How Enertor PX1 works: impact spread sideways through the insole, compared with a standard insole

The shape does as much work as the material. A cushioned arch supports flat to medium-high arches and helps control mild overpronation. A met pad spreads the load across the forefoot, a drop point under the big toe takes pressure off the joint, and a slight heel raise eases a tight Achilles. The running formulation is a little firmer than Enertor's walking insole, for more energy return at the higher impact of running.

They replace the insole in neutral or supportive trainers, and in football or rugby boots where the insole lifts out and there is room. Each pair trims down at the toe with scissors, so if you are between sizes, buy the size above and cut to fit. Worn and endorsed by Usain Bolt.

Also from Enertor: the Enertor Energy Run Socks, lightweight Italian-made running socks with anti-blister yarn and a stabilising EnergyKnit band.

Care Instructions

Hand wash only, in lukewarm water with a mild detergent such as washing-up liquid and a sponge. Do not machine wash, even on a hand wash or wool cycle. Leave to air dry away from direct heat and sunlight, and never on a radiator. Replace the pair once the top fabric has worn through to the green base.

Safety Information

Wear the insoles in gradually. Start with about an hour of walking on the first day and build up daily over one to three weeks before running long distances in them. If they cause pain, stop wearing them. They are not suitable for very high or rigid arches, for people who supinate, after bunion surgery, or for people with diabetes who have foot ulceration. If you have a foot condition, take advice from a podiatrist or GP.
