Description
The Power Hook is the fixing for hanging a chair from a ceiling, a joist or a beam. A galvanised steel base plate takes four bolts, and the hook sits on a ball bearing so the chair rotates freely instead of winding the fixing up. A 78 cm chain hangs below it, which is how you set the seat height without moving the plate.
At 200 kg it is the strongest fixing Amazonas make, and the bolts and masonry plugs are in the box. The base plate is 9 cm across with 7.5 cm between the screw points, which is the measurement to check against the joist or beam you are fixing to.
Use it for the woven hanging chairs - the Panama, Relax, Havanna and the children's Swinger - and for hammock chairs generally. The upholstered Globo range is outdoor use only, so a Power Hook in a covered outdoor structure suits those, not a ceiling indoors.
The obvious point, but the one that matters: this is only as strong as what you fix it to. A structural joist or a solid masonry ceiling, not plasterboard, and if you are unsure what is above the plaster, get someone to check before you drill.
