Ledlenser AF2R Work Rechargeable Area Light 1000 Lumens

The Ledlenser AF2R Work is the smallest light in Ledlenser’s AF Work area light range: a compact 248mm aluminium bar that gives up to 1000 lumens of even white light, plus a red light with a blink mode so it can double as a warning light. It is made for the jobs where a torch is awkward, such as lighting an engine bay, checking a fuse box, working under a sink or marking a broken-down car at the side of the road.

There are four ways to fix it in place without tools. A rubber hook folds out of one end to hang it from a bonnet catch or branch, a magnet holds it to steel, hook-and-loop straps wrap it round a pipe or post, and there is a screw hole on the back. The housing carries a ruler, marked in centimetres on one face and inches on the other, and rubber end caps give it a non-slip grip and some shock protection. A transport lock stops it switching on in a bag, and Ledlenser’s Temperature Control System protects the LEDs from overheating.

White light runs from 1000 lumens for 1 hour 45 minutes down to 50 lumens for 35 hours, across five brightness levels, and the red light has two levels plus blink. A built-in 4800mAh lithium-ion battery charges over USB-C, with three green indicator lights showing the charge. The AF2R Work is rated IP54 against dust and splashing water, drop tested to 1.5 metres and weighs 332g.

Warranty

Ledlenser cover the AF2R Work with a 2 year manufacturer’s warranty as standard. Register the light online with Ledlenser within 12 weeks of purchase and the warranty is extended to 7 years. You will need the warranty card from the box and the 10-digit serial number printed on the light, and you should keep your proof of purchase, as Ledlenser may ask for it when a claim is made.

Warranty Exclusions

The built-in rechargeable battery is covered for 2 years for proper function, and the gradual loss of capacity that comes with age and use is not a fault. The warranty does not cover general wear and tear, misuse, unauthorised alterations or repairs, pouches, charging cables, surface coatings or embossing.
